The head coach of the Denver Broncos could be out of a job by the end of the weekend.
The result of Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars is said to be the reason why Hackett's job is at stake.
Through Denver's first seven games, he has looked like he is in over his head. There were many issues in the first two weeks, like clock management and when to use the field goal unit.
The Broncos' offense hasn't improved despite some of those issues getting better recently. They have scored less than 20 points just once in seven games, and are last in the league in points per game.
The Broncos rank 23rd in yards per game and 20th in passing yards per game. The team's touchdown passes are the lowest in the league.
Adding to the problems for the Broncos offense is the price they paid for Russell Wilson. Two first-round and two second-round draft picks were included in the trade for the nine-time Pro Bowler.
Wilson signed a five-year, $245 million contract extension prior to the start of the season. He is on pace to have the worst season of his career, with a 58.6 completion percentage and 35.2 quarterback rating in six starts.

The assumption that he could elevate the offense was one of the reasons why he was hired.
The Broncos' previous ownership group made it difficult for him to get the job. He was hired in January. The group bought the franchise in August.
The Broncos are in danger of not making the playoffs for the eighth year in a row. If they lose to the Jags on Sunday, they'll have a 3-6 record.
