More than 20 million people have streamed games using Microsoft's cloud gaming platform, according to the company's CEO. That is double the 10 million figure Microsoft shared earlier this year, just before the two companies collaborated to bring the popular video game to the gaming platform.

It is not clear how other streaming services are compared to Xbox Cloud gaming. Stadia numbers were never released before the announcement of the service's end. We haven't heard from Amazon about its Luna numbers.
Microsoft may open the door to more free-to-play games if the experiment with Fortnite goes well. Microsoft benefits from revenue from in-game purchases and consumers get free access to streaming a game on their phones or browsers. It is a model that you would expect to see more of in the future.
