The story takes place after the appearance of theGuardians in the movie. The Star-Lord is mourning his girlfriend, Gamora. There is a variant of Gamora who is still alive after the events of the movie, but she isn't the woman Peter loved. Peter will be coming back to Earth to celebrate the holiday season. They have been to Peter's world before, but never had time to enjoy themselves.
The ultimate gift to lighten the burden on Peter's heart is the chance to meet his hero, Kevin bacon. The famous actor is playing himself in the special, even though he is freaked out by aliens who break into his house to abduct him.
It was filmed during the production of the movie. Almost all of the main cast members are back.
The holiday special will premiere on Disney+ on November 25th.
