Sources tell the Associated Press that West was informed of the decision by the bank before his recent actions began. The family of George Floyd said last week that they were planning to file a $250 million lawsuit against West for making false claims about Floyd's death.
Until Tuesday, when Adidas said it was reviewing its relationship with West, it had remained silent. The Anti-Defamation League wants Adidas to stop selling West. Over the weekend, a small group of anti-Semitic protestors in Los Angeles held signs that said, "Kanye West was right about the Jews." The California Legislative Jewish Caucus said that any company that still does business with West is part of the attack on Jews.
According to Forbes, West is worth $2 billion, but he could lose his billionaire status if Adidas dropped him.
