It is time for you to go on the go. Today is the Age of Empires 25th anniversary broadcast and World's Edge and Xbox Game Studios announced Age of Empires is going from PC to mobile devices.

This is the latest attempt by Microsoft to break into the mobile gaming market, and it's already got a leg up with its acquisition of Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Age of Empires has been brought to mobile before, but this seems to be the most faithful adaptation of the game to date. Age of Empires: Castle Siege and Age of Empires: World Domination were both released on mobile in 2015. After four years, Castle Siege shut down and World Domination ended.

It will be interesting to see how the developers use the massive and complex strategy game into something suitable for on-the-go playing after seeing the brief trailer. Crusader Kings III, an even more menu-intensive strategy game, made the jump from PC to XBOX consoles, so it can be done.
