NFL Rumors: Johnathan Hankins Traded to Cowboys from Raiders for Draft Picks

Hankins was traded to the Dallas Cowboys for a draft pick.

The Cowboys sent a sixth-round pick to Las Vegas in exchange for Hankins, according to a report.

Hankins had been with the team. He played in five games this year and recorded 10 tackles. Hankins lost out on the two starting defensive tackle spots after he signed with Las Vegas.

In Week 6 of the season, Hankins saw his snap count dwindle to just 12 plays.

Hankins can fill gaps in the middle of the defense and help improve it. The Cowboys allow 120.1 rushing yards per game which is 20th in the league.

It was clear why a player like Hankins became a priority when the pass defense ranked fourth in yards per game and seventh in opposing passer rating.

Hankins played for the New York Giants and Indianapolis Colts before he was drafted by the New York Giants.
