The first major update to theiOS 16 operating system since it's public release was released by Apple this week. Apple still has more features in the works for the year 2022.
We have listed five features and new apps for iPadOS 16 that Apple has promised to release before the end of the year.
The main feature of iPadOS 16 is that the iPad is getting proper support for external displays. Stage Manager has a new multitasking system for iPad models.
External display support is not available with Stage Manager. We will have to wait until iPadOS 16.2 is released before we see external display support.
Users will be able to use SharePlay to play games with friends and family in the future. For games with Game Center integration, this will work. SharePlay was built-in on apps in the new iPadOS 16.
The new app from Apple is called Freeform. Teams can easily collaborate in a single place with notes, shared files, web links, drawings, documents, photos, videos, and more.
Users will be able to make emergency SOS texts via satellite on their phone when it's released in November. The service will be free for the first two years in the US and Canada. Pricing beyond the first two years is private.
Apple acquired Primephonic in August of 2021. Apple said it would create a dedicated Apple Music experience app for classical music in 2022.
With just a few months left before the end of the year, Apple has not yet released the app, but traces of its development have been found in the code of the mobile operating system.
