Mark Schmitt joins AmaWaterways as head of sales to grow brand in UK

Mark Schmitt is the ex-head of sales at Ama Waterways.

He joined the river line on Monday as its head of sales after working at Fred Olsen Travel.

He was head of sales at Tradewind for two years before he left in May.

Ama Waterways has a sales team in the UK and Ireland.

The line is looking to add a third BDM to cover the southeast of England and the Channel Islands.

Jamie loizou said that the line would continue to offer outstanding service as they looked to grow their business for the future.

Ama Waterways has been a 100% trade focused business since it was founded in 2002. The majority of our UK business comes from our travel agent partners.

"I am looking forward to getting started and working with our dedicated travel partners to continue to grow river cruising and the Ama Waterways brand in the UK and Ireland."

Jon Knight was the manager of the Miles Morgan Travel branch in Bath when he left Ama Waterways.

The founder of Miles Morgan Travel worked with Knight at Bakers Dolphin Travel, which was purchased by First Choice in 1998.

Morgan said thatBath is an important branch for them. Quality managers make a big difference and we are excited to have Jon in the position because we know what he can do.

He said that he worked with Jon at Baker's Dolphin.
