Meta is aware that some people are having trouble sending messages and they are working to restore it for everyone.

This was the first major outage since the service went down as a result of a massive outage last year. It took nearly six hours for the problem to be solved. At the time, Meta said that it had a configuration change that caused it to go down.

The service is used by more than two billion people a month and it has major implications for communications around the world. The jobs of Brazilian workers went with the demise of the messaging service.

The messaging service is now back on the internet.
