The Republican governor of Florida is campaigning on age issues.

During the debate on Monday, Charlie Crist asked if he would seek the White House in four years. The age of Crist, a former Democratic congressman, and Republican governor, as well as President Joe Biden, was criticized by the candidate.

"I know Charlie wants to talk about Joe Biden, but let me be clear: The only worn-out old donkey I want to put out to pasture is Charlie Crist," said the 44-year-old Republican.

Maine has the highest percentage of senior citizens in the state. One in five people in Florida are over the age of 65.

After Crist accused DeSantis of wanting to run for president, he said that he wanted to run. One of the most talked about stories in politics is whether Ron DeSantis would challenge Donald Trump for the Republican nomination for president in four years.

If Trump were to become president again in four years, he would be the same age as Biden was when he took office.

The implication was clear because donkeys are the Democrats' mascot.

If he runs for the GOP nomination and wins, he could face off against Biden, the oldest president in history.

He is up for reelection in Florida on November 8 and hasn't said if he wants the White House or not.

On the campaign trail, Crist's name isn't mentioned much. Florida Republicans have out registered Democrats by 270,000 so Crist is the favorite.

When the two faced off on Monday, Crist was tied to Biden because he voted for his policies.

Crist said during the debate that he understood that you would run against him. You would get confused. The governor was asked if he would serve out the entire four years as governor.

When he asked if it was his time to speak, he paused and asked if it was his time to criticize Crist.

The candidates were told that they wouldn't ask each other questions.
