Donald Trump responded to reports that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis endorsed Joe O'Dea by saying it was a big mistake.
The candidate for Senate in Colorado, O'Dea, was the subject of arobocall from DeSantis.
Strong leadership is desperately needed by America. I'm endorsing Joe O'Dea because of that. In a recorded message O'Dea asked Colorado to vote for him. I've never seen Joe in person. I'm pleased.
O'Dea previously stated that he would not like to see Trump as president again.
In August, O'Dea said on "The Ross Kaminsky Show" that he didn't think Biden-Trump would work out. A lot of people are ready to move the country in a positive direction. I don't want him to run again.
Trump called O'Dea a "RINO" and discouraged his supporters from voting for him in the general election.
Donald Trump doesn't vote for stupid people with big mouths. Joe, good luck! Trump referred to O'Dea.
O'Dea is in a race to represent Colorado in congress. According to a poll from October 11th, Bennet is leading by 7 points.
Bennett will win the senate race according to FiveThirtyEight.
In June, O'Dea beat Ron Hanks, a pro-Trump candidate who was not endorsed by Trump, and has received support from George W. Bush.
As speculation grows that both Republicans could run for president in 2024, there has been a silent war between the two men. Trump seems to be going after the Florida governor by insulting him behind closed doors, while DeSantis is an increasingly popular option for Republicans.
Representatives for Trump and O'Dea didn't reply to Insider's requests for comment.
