She said her husband left the mines and drove to the game to be with his family. The first live basketball game their son had attended was Kentucky's scrimmage and he didn't want to miss it.
She said her husband didn't know about the photo because he had been in the mines all day.
He offered her family tickets to an upcoming game and treatment at the arena when he reached her.
The scrimmage at the arena was arranged to raise money for the people of Eastern Kentucky who had been affected by the flooding.
In August, 39 people died in flooding in that part of the state. She and her family packed up bags of clothing and gave them to family and friends who had lost everything.
The families will be helped by the Kentucky scrimmage.
She said it was amazing that the men came and raised money. It's going to cover people's heads.
