The final version of the browser will be released next year. The last version that supports Microsoft's older operating systems will be the next version of Chrome, which is scheduled to be released on February 7th, 2020.
You might think it's a small deal. As recently as last year, it was estimated that at least 100 million PCs were running Windows 7, despite the fact that Microsoft will no longer be supporting it in 2020. A lot of people will soon be using an operating system that is not supported and a web browser that isn't supported.
According to the support page, chrome won't get any future updates on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. If you are still using an older operating system, we recommend you upgrade as soon as possible. You will be able to receive security updates for your operating system and take advantage of the latest chrome features if you do that.
