The 49ers lost to the Chiefs 44-23. San Francisco will get better as the season goes on. Kansas City has defeated many teams the same way. There isn't a Chiefs equivalent in theNFC. Heading into the playoffs, the Niners have the formula to be the most dangerous team.
How quickly do we forget? Last year, San Francisco was in the same situation. They were 3-4 after seven games after a butt-kick against Indianapolis. The 49ers won eight of their last 11 games to finish the season with a.500 record. They made a run to the playoffs and lost to the Rams in the conference semifinals.
The Niners will bounce back from this loss. They will have a three-man rotation in the backfield once Mitchell is back. Kyle loves the running game more than any other part of the game. As the season goes on, Christian McCaffrey will become more comfortable in this offense, which will make them the most dynamic in theNFC.
The 49ers rotation at running back will be good for McCaffrey, who has been injury prone over the past two years. In the last three years, McCaffrey didn't miss a game. In his last two full seasons as a Panther, he only played in 10 games. Not having to carry the entire offensive load in San Francisco should be a big benefit.
In his first game with the Niner, he showed a glimpse of what to expect once he gets used to the offense. He ran for 4.8 yards per carry and had two catches despite playing just 22 offensive snaps. There was a trade less than 72 hours before the game started. It was amazing that he was ready for it. The offense could look completely different in a few weeks, with Jeff Wilson Jr. running and catching the ball out of the back field.
San Francisco's defense came into the game as one of the best in the league and ranked in the top five in many categories. The 49ers gave up 44 points to the Chiefs, but they are still giving up 19 points per game for the year. In the top 10 for points allowed is that. They are third in average yards allowed per game and seventh in average yards surrendered per game, despite giving up over 500 yards to the Chiefs. San Francisco was run into a better team that wore them down with a great offensive scheme, quarterback, and all the ways they could beat a defense.
The Chiefs and Bills aren't located in the same area as theNFC. The Philadelphia Eagles are the team to keep an eye on. Even though the Giants are playing well, no one trusts them with Daniel Jones leading the team. The Eagles are the only real threat to the Niners moving forward in the playoffs. By the time January arrives, they might be fools gold.
San Francisco looks like they'll be in good shape once they get some key guys back from injury and that's right. If they win nine games they should make the tournament. There could be an 8-9 team that makes it to the playoffs. If the Bears beat the Pats on Monday Night Football, they will become the 12th team to hold a 3-4 record or better. There will be a few games in Week 18 that will determine the playoffs.
Don't be surprised when the Niners upset your favorite team. I'm looking at you. They will be the scariest team in the playoffs once they get on track. That is something you can count on.
Jimmy Garoppolo has an issue that they have had for a while now, but they have overcome his weaknesses before, and they can do it again.
