Attorney General Garland said Monday that two Chinese intelligence officers have been charged with trying to obstruct the prosecution of the company.
The Chinese government has been accused of trying to interfere in the U.S. affairs.
Three Chinese intelligence agents are accused of conspiring to act in the US as illegal agents for a foreign government.
Several people working on behalf of the Chinese government are accused of engaging in a multi-year campaign of threats and harassment to force a US resident to return to China.
Two of those defendants were arrested last Thursday.
Garland said that the government of China tried to interfere with the rights and freedoms of individuals in the United States.
He said that they didn't succeed.
According to the criminal complaint, He and Wang paid an employee of the U.S. Justice Department $61,000 in exchange for confidential information about the prosecution of the China-based company.
According to the complaint in the district court in Brooklyn, there was information about witnesses, trial evidence and potential new charges to be brought against the company.
Details in the complaint match up with the prosecution of the company.
The attempt by intelligence officers from the People's Republic of China to shield a company from accountability was egregious.

The government employee continued to have contact with He and Wang after he became a double agent.
According to the complaint, the employee provided He and Wang with various information at their request.
The two defendants are accused of money-laundering and obstruction of justice for their alleged transfer of the virtual currency used to bribe their supposed source of information.
