Frank Reich told reporters that Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Ryan will not play against the Washington Commanders due to a shoulder injury.
Reich said "right now the move is for Ehlinger to start the rest of the year."
The Falcons starter was acquired by the Colts in March to take over an offense that failed to reach its potential. He was traded to the Commanders.
Ryan had a great career after the Falcons selected him with the third overall pick. He earned four Pro Bowl selections and was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2016 season.
In seven games with Indy, he has nine touchdown and nine interception.
The Boston College product has been around for 37 years. He missed three games in the first 14 years of his career. He missed a game due to an ankle injury.
