IHG cardholders: Book by Oct. 28 and get 15% off award stays of 3 nights or less

20% off award stays of three nights or longer was offered in January and March by I hg. Now that the sale is back with a 15% discount, it's a good time to use your Chase IHG rewards card. "Just for you: 15% off Reward Nights" is the email you probably received this morning.

If you book stays of three nights or less, you can get a 15% discount. To be eligible for the discount, cardholders need to log into their account and stay at participating hotels between October 24, 2022, and December 16, 2022,

The points needed to book an award stay will be discounted. The cash portion of points and cash awards will be discounted.

The discount is only available to credit card members. During the booking window, other members gained access to the promotions. I wouldn't be surprised to see more people get access to this discount soon.

Skeptics think that the promotion could cause award prices to go up. I checked to see if IHG was applying a 15% discount when I searched for the award twice: once when I log in to my account and once when I leave.

If you are eligible for the promotion, you don't need to register or do anything special to get the discount, just log in to your account and search for award nights. I found that Six Senses properties that you can book with IHG points are not discounted during this promotion.

If you have a stay of three nights or less coming up with IHG and are eligible, it's worth checking to see if this 15% discount changes your calculations on whether you should book a paid stay or redeem IHG points. Most award bookings can be canceled before the check-in date if eligible members don't book by the deadline.

It is possible to transfer Chase Ultimate rewards points and Bilt rewards points to IHG. Depending on how you value the points, you may be able to get a better deal.
