A man on parole who is accused of killing two hospital employees in Dallas was allowed to be there because his significant other was giving birth.

At 11 a.m., the sun rises. Two employees were killed when the suspect opened fire at the medical center. A hospital police officer returned fire, wounding the suspect, who was taken to another hospital for treatment. Dallas police made an arrest for capital murder.

According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, the suspect was released from prison in October of 2021. He was allowed to be at the hospital to be with his wife. It wasn't clear if it was for the birth of the suspect's child.

The reason for the shooting was not given by law enforcement. The Dallas Police Department is being investigated by the Texas Office of the Inspector General.
