Rosie Galligan spent three years out of rugby due to injury, illness and lockdowns, but she says setbacks have made her a better player.

She won her second England cap in March.

Galligan told Rugby Union Weekly that he's a bigger, stronger person.

I will come away with bigger highs after taking the lows.

It has all been worth it to be back in a white shirt with my family at a World Cup.

Galligan's parents watched as their daughter scored three tries in her first Rugby World Cup game.

Galligan made more metres with ball in hand than any other England forward and oversaw a line out that claimed 15 out of 17 on their own throw.

She didn't expect to score any tries.

I was just trying to get on the ball and carry hard.

The pressure of calling the line-out has been there all week.

Having the support of the second rows was amazing. I knew I could do it.

England will play Australia on Sunday for a place in the semifinals.

Galligan said that England have held back in some aspects of their pool performances to make sure they don't get beat in the knockout stages.

She said that they have things in the locker.

We will use them when and where we choose. It is not a race.

We don't want to show everything but we know we have to do something different in the quarter-finals. I won't tell you what it is.

Galligan will be keeping those secrets from the three Australians who will join her at the tournament.

Galligan said that he had been telling them.

I was excited to hear that we would be playing them instead of our usual teams. They are going to offer something different.
