The big refereeing flashpoints from the weekend's league action were analysed by Dermot.

Tottenham 1-2 Newcastle

The opener against Spurs was allowed after Wilson collided with Hugo Lloris. The referee got the VAR to agree with him.

The decision was the right one.

It's a good goal. He is there and Hugo Lloris goes into him. I don't know where he can go. The referee is right to make a decision. There is not enough evidence for a foul to be called against Wilson.

Paul Robinson thinks it's soft. Hugo wasn't sent to the ground by the contact he made. You can see that it came around Hugo Lloris. If Hugo Lloris puts his arm around the other side of the ball, it's a foul in the other direction.

Scott McTominay gave away a penalty for holding on to a player.

The correct decision was the penalty.

He just holds on to him and doesn't let go. He holds onto him until he is on the floor. The referee has no choice but to award a penalty. The referees are looking for things like shirts being stretched or how long people are holding on to players.

There was an incident in which a penalty was given for pulling on the shirt of a player.

The decision was right.

The shirt that I talked about is this one. This is a good example of what referees are looking for. The shirt is close to the body. He tried to get in touch with the player.

Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher says Callum Wilson did 'nothing wrong' when colliding with Hugo Lloris before scoring for Newcastle against Tottenham

The referee decided against giving Erling Haaland a penalty after he made contact with the Seagulls' goalkeeper.

The verdict was that it should have been a penalty.

I think it's a penalty, says DeRM OT. The ball is running away from him, so they didn't give it. I don't think that goalkeeper is a goalkeeper anymore. He is a full-back and if a full-back makes that challenge, he would be punished.

After a VAR check, Bernardo Silva was given a penalty after being pushed by Lewis Dunk.

I think it was a penalty.

It's raised a lot of disagreements. People are wondering if it's a foul by Dunk, if Silva dangled his leg or if Gross pushed Silva into him and if that was enough of a push to push him into Dunk's leg.

There are a couple of times where a penalty could be given. He was pushed into the trip. The push was sufficient for a penalty.

Sue Smith thinks it was a penalty, but she thinks Silva knows what he is doing. He is talking to someone.

Gabriel Jesus' calls for a penalty were ignored after being held on to by Duje Caleta- Car.

The referee was 888-609- 888-609- 888-609- 888-609-

I think there is a tangle of legs. It's not a good idea to call it a foul because the defender gets the ball. He catches him, he plays for the ball, he is clumsy, but they are both playing for the ball. I would go with the ref.

He gets the ball, but he is caught in the wrong place. Either way, it could have gone. The man has his arms and legs around him. You feel a penalty when you get in front.

The contact is there. Your legs don't go up in the air if you go backwards, that's why Jesus doesn't help himself by doing that. He doesn't help himself.
