U2 used to give away an album's worth of songs to everyone on the internet. Many people were unhappy. Apple had to make a tool to remove the blowback. In an interview with The Guardian over the weekend, Bono said it was all his fault.

When Bono approached Tim Cook, he was met with skepticism. Is that about free music? Cook made a statement.

"'No,' I said, 'I don't think we give it away free' I think you give it away as a gift to the people who paid for it. Cook asked if it would be distributed only to U2 fans, and the singer replied, "I think we should give it away to everyone." No, Bono.
