The committee is prepared in case Donald Trump doesn't comply with the subpoena, according to Rep. Liz Cheney, R- Wiss.
In an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday, host Chuck Todd asked what will happen if Trump fails to turn over requested documents. Cheney was certain that the committee wouldn't have to deal with it.
The former president is expected to comply with the subpoena.
The subpoena deals with Trump's alleged role in a multi-part effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election and to obstruct the peaceful transition of power. The committee wants to question Trump about the events that led to the riot at the U.S. Capitol building in January of 2021.
On January 6th, the Commerce Committee raised the issue of Trump testifying on Capitol Rim.
"We made clear in the subpoena a number of things, including that if he intends to take the Fifth, that he should alert us of that ahead of time," Cheney said.

Cheney was asked about an offer that Trump's team was rumored to have made to the former president. Cheney said that the committee is not interested in having one in which they are not in total control, despite the committee's penchant for special televised presentations.
Mark Mesas complained to DOJ Subpoena and turned over documents previously shared with the House. 6 people are involved in the commission.
She said that the former president wouldn't turn the event into a circus. This isn't going to be his first debate against Joe Biden and the food fight that happened. We have made clear what his obligations are and we are proceeding with that set out.
The committee will handle it with a level of rigor and seriousness that it deserves, according to Cheney.

In the event that Trump doesn't comply with the subpoena, the committee has many, many alternatives that they could consider.
The two former Trump aides were charged with contempt for not complying with the subpoenas. On Friday, he was sentenced to four months in prison and a fine. He hasn't yet faced trial.
