Dak finds Hendershot for his first TD pass of the season (0:16)

The quarterback ran play action and found the receiver in the back of the end zone for a touchdown. There is a time and a place.

After the Dallas Cowboys' 24-6 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday, center Tyler Biadasz was hit on the backside with a right hand by quarterback Dak Prescott.

The quarterback said that his thumb felt good.

Playing for the first time in 42 days since undergoing surgery to repair a fractured thumb, the Cowboys' quarterback, who was not at his best, threw for 207 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown.

A win is a win, according to Prescott. A win is a win. It was going to be cool to not score a touchdown. Right now, that's where my head is. I am aware of the team's talent. I am aware of what we can be. I don't think it's about me. I'm trying to make sure that I play my part and that I put the team in the right situation each and every time.

On his first pass attempt, he tried to throw to Noah Brown, but it was incomplete. The Cowboys did not get a first down until their third drive. On the fourth drive, the quarterback forced a pass to Lamb.

Some of the throws were too confident. I have to guard against that because sometimes those can lead to turnovers and the last thing I want to do is put this team in a bad position.

With only one full-padded practice ahead of Sunday's game, and only 10 days of throwing without limitations, it's easy to see why the Cowboys' quarterback is in great shape. After the game, he said he didn't think about the thumb at all, even though he wore tape on it.

He came back and the Cowboys were aggressive in the passing game.

The Cowboys have had an average of 10 air yards per attempt this season. He was perfect on passes of 10 or less air yards. He completed four of seven passes into a tight window, which was the most completions by the Cowboys this season.

The running game gave the quarterback 121 yards and a touchdown off play-action.

"I thought he did a better job as the game went on," McCarthy stated. He's been out there for a long time. I think he was on point when he started with the command of the huddle. The adjustments were made by him during the game. The big things don't show up in the stat column

Even though Cooper Rush was praised by his teammates, they were happy to have him back at the helm.

He was back to normal according to the tight end who had five catches for 49 yards. He was back out there. You cannot underestimate the amount of leadership that guy has. It was great to feel normal again in our offense because of the command he gives in the huddle. The guy did a great job. It's huge for us that he's back. He's going to look better next week.

The Cowboys have a chance to get to 6-2 before their bye week. The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants are the only teams that have yet to lose a game.

The man is happy to be back and ready for the big days.

The sky can't be bigger. "We're not going to limit what we can do."
