A group of environmentalist activists threw mashed potatoes on a painting by Monet, according to a museum in Germany.

The painting was not damaged in any way because it is protected by glass, according to the museum.

Video clips posted to social media by Letzte Generation show two individuals throwing a pot of mashed potatoes onto the painting and gluing themselves to the wall below the frame.

Letzte Generation said in a statement that the two activists were taken to jail.

One of the activists said in a clip posted by Letze Generation that "We are in a climate catastrophe and all you are afraid of is tomato soup." We won't be able to feed our families by the year 2050 according to science. Is it possible to make people listen with mashed potatoes on a painting?
