Dumbo in Disney's 2019 live action remake.

The live action remake of the 1941 animated film Dumbo was released by Disney a few years back. Even though it was directed by Tim Burton of Beetlejuice fame, the remake was not well received by the public.

Disney and Burton have collaborated for decades, but Burton's remake of Alice in Wonderland helped start Disney's obsession with remakes after it made over a billion dollars. The live action Dumbo may have ended that relationship. At the Lumire Festival, where he received the Prix Lumire award for his contribution to the film industry over the decades, Burton said that he believes he is done with Disney. He said that he needed to escape because he was working in a large circus. The movie is quiteautobiographical.

If you were wondering if the man would change his mind about directing an MCU or Star Wars movie, that is a hard no. There isn't as much room for different kinds of things. I can only deal with a single universe.

Burton isn't hard up for work even though he's done with Disney. He will be working on his first TV series in 20 years in a few weeks, and it will be on the streaming service. He may still have an active relationship with Warner Bros., or he may turn his attention to another company.

It was reported by Deadline.
