Nikita Parris celebrates
Nikita Parris scored the game's only goal as Manchester United beat Leicester

Manchester United continued their winning ways in the Women's Super League with a narrow victory overLeicester City.

The only goal of the game was scored by Nikita Parris in the first half.

Mary Earps stopped Kayleigh Green's volley in the second half, but it could have been a lot worse.

This season, United have won all of their games.

The first chance of the game went to United when Ashleigh Plumptre's long-range curler was stopped by Earps, but it wasLeicester who had the better of the game.

After a number of missed chances, United found the game's only goal as Zelem floated a free- kick towards the head of Parris and she nodded in her first in a Reds shirt.

It had been a comfortable first half but the balance changed after the break and the visitors almost found a way back into the game.

Earps was forced into a difficult stop to deny Green after she almost found the back of the net.

The visitors didn't bother to try to score on the goal until half an hour after that.

They held onto the ball, but couldn't find the net again.

Despite the nature of the game, United emerged victorious and have now achieved three points and have not conceded in any of their games.

United win but are far from their best

Many would have expected United to cruise past the WSL's basement team but that was not the case.

They worked hard to stop the Foxes from getting anything from the game, but they couldn't prevent them from matching those levels.

Even though United had more possession, both teams had five shots on target even though they had not scored a goal.

There was a second-half moment of anxiety as Earps was forced to run out of her area as miscommunication allowedLeicester to run through.

The United and England goalkeeper needed to show the best of her talents to stop the hosts from drawing the scores level.

The Reds were made to struggle for their spoils and will want to improve if they are to continue their perfect start to the season.
