Jan. 6 Capitol riot committee won’t let Trump turn testimony into a ‘circus,’ Cheney says

Vice Chairwoman Liz Cheney said that Trump will not be able to turn his testimony into acircus.

She told NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday that the committee is very serious about the matter. It will be done with a level of rigor and seriousness that it deserves.

The committee voted unanimously on the subpoena and demanded relevant records and testimony from Trump.

A subpoena to a former president is a significant and historic action according to the panel's leaders. The chairman and the vice chairman of the committee cited what they said was Trump's central role in a multi-part effort to reverse his loss.

The subpoena stated that Trump would be deposed after the election. I don't know if he will comply.

The former White House aide was sentenced to four months in jail for not complying with subpoenas. He is free until his appeal is heard.

Cheney said the committee has made it clear what obligations Trump has.

She said that this wouldn't be his first debate against Joe Biden. This is a lot of issues.
