There is video footage of a family being removed from a Qantas plane. It is refreshing to see this happen in another country for the first time. A family from Australia was kicked off a Qantas flight for abusing the crew. This happened on Qantas flight QF 44 from the Indonesian island of Deni to the Australian city of Sydney. The flight was operated by a plane. The argument started over a stroller issue. The husband and father said they were told the stroller would be on the plane but it ended up in the cargo hold. The family was removed from the flight after the crew was abused. Three minutes of a discussion between a passenger and a flight attendant are captured in the beginning of the video. The husband and father can be heard telling the flight attendant.
The family got removed from the plane despite their protests. Qantas made a statement about the incident.
“These passengers were removed from the aircraft after abusing our crew a number of times prior to the flight departing Bali. The safety of our customers and crew is our number one priority and we do not tolerate any kind of abusive behaviour. We ask customers to follow the direction of crew for the safety and comfort of everyone on board.”
People can find themselves in tense situations on airplanes, and at times airline employees may even be on power trips.
Sometimes the crew will tell someone they are going to be removed from the plane, but they refuse. The man encouraged the police to be called because he said the family wouldn't get off the plane unless they were forced.
I don't recall the last time that ended well for the passenger, but I'm pretty sure he was thinking that. The people don't seem to understand that when the police is called, they're just there to enforce the request of the airline, and not hear both sides.
The guy might have thought that this situation would play out differently.
“The captain wants you off the plane, pack your stuff.”“Nope, I’m not leaving. You’re so annoying, get out of my face”
“Oh, okay. In that case you’re welcome to stay. Would you like a warm towel and perhaps a cocktail?”
If you feel like you are being unfairly treated in this situation, your best bet is to follow instructions and hopefully have witnesses. You can't argue with and insult the crew. It would never happen.
A family was kicked off a plane. The husband and father yelled at and insulted the crew after an argument over a stroller. The family wouldn't leave the plane when they were asked to.
What do you think about this situation?
