Reports say that the former CFO of the Trump Organization is expected to be a star witness in the upcoming tax fraud trial.

The man who worked for the company for decades will be called to testify.

The jury selection will take place in Manhattan. Potential jurors will be asked if they can fairly evaluate the evidence if they have a negative opinion of Trump.

The company is accused of engaging in a tax fraud scheme by giving perks to senior executives under Weisselberg's watch. The president is not personally charged.

In August, Weisselberg pleaded guilty to 15 felony counts in exchange for a maximum five-month jail sentence.

Weisselberg agreed to testify in the upcoming trial under the plea's terms.

He could face up to 15 years in prison if he doesn't tell the truth, according to his attorney.

Barbara McQuade is a former federal prosecutor who teaches at the University of Michigan Law School.

This is a big case. Donald Trump is the president of the Trump Organization despite the criminal charges against it.

According to a source familiar with Weisselberg's thinking, he has no intention of implicating anyone in the Trump family, either as part of his testimony or in cooperation with the Manhattan District Attorney's ongoing Trump Organization probe.

Weisselberg, who worked for the Trump Organization, received an apartment, a Mercedes-Benz, and tuition payments to a private school for his children, according to a report. These should have been taxed like income, according to prosecutors.

Trump's children and other senior executives may be asked if they received the same perks.

As part of its three-year investigation into Trump and his company, Manhattan prosecutors tried to "flip" the longstanding Trump executive.

The Trump Organization will have to pay back taxes and fines if it is found guilty.
