Since the foundation of the initiative helping philanthropists give away most of their wealth, the number of billionaires has plummeted.

Dozens of America's wealthiest people pledged to donate the bulk of their wealth in 2010 in order to help solve society's problems.

Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is one of the pledgers.

The number of billionaires on the list has gone down this year. When the list was founded, 58 people joined.

Forbes has ranked Jeff Bezos as the second-richest person in the world. His former spouse joined in 2019.

The founder of FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried, is one of the people who signed this year.

Bankman- Fried said in his pledge letter that he became convinced that his duty was to do the most for the world. The work his friends and colleagues do at foundations is what matters the most, according to him. The former managing director of Lone Pine Capital, Mala Gaonkar, signed up this year as well. She said in her pledge letter that she would be rewarded for her generosity.

She said that people who work quietly, often at great risk, often at great cost to them and those they love, are people who resist the value society places on fame and wealth. Some of the most fulfilled people are those people.

The full list of people who signed it can be found here.
