Over the years, Rasmden has played a role in nearly every aspect of the business. When the company sold, she earned $200,000 in her first year of work, and another $200,000 in her second year. She is known as the fish mongress because she is the VP of sales.

Ramsden says the business still looks the same as it did when her great-grandfather started it.

Ramsden worked for the first time at the age of fifteen. I told my dad that I wanted to be a bus girl after working at a restaurant packing fish, opening tins and making boxes.

Her dad told her to keep going. She has been with the company ever since he said that.

Ramsden was grateful to her parents for making her work on the floor. She's gained a lot of skills out of necessity.

She says that running a small business is all about doing what needs to be done.

The company's head fishmonger is thought to be a male. People have asked if Ramsden's brothers would take over the business. She is proud to be a female in a male-dominated industry.

My mom was the fish mongress. She said that when she and her husband bought the business, she was the fish mongress.

Ramsden has had no problems in her career as a woman. She is armed with knowledge and experience to help her male coworkers.

She has never felt less work for her than a man would. Every day can be different depending on what needs to be done.

She says that she wears a lot of hats in her small business.

Ramsden plans to stay involved in the industry and with Chefs' Warehouse even though he has sold the company.

She will continue to work with the Massachusetts Marketing Council for Local Species and other partners.

Ramsden is passionate about fish and even though she might be kicked out of her house, she still loves it.
