According to a new survey from Democratic polling firm Beacon Research, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's lead over Democratic challenger Beto O'Rourke has shrunk to just two percentage points among Texans who plan to vote in the upcoming elections.
The poll found that Abbott was ahead of the other two candidates by a wide margin, and that more people plan to go to the polls.
There are 948 people who are extremely motivated to vote and Abbott's lead has dropped to just one percentage point.
The RealClearPolitics polling average shows that Abbott's lead had grown to 8.7 percentage points, but the slim margins show that was not the case.
Immigration and border security was the top issue, followed by the economy, jobs and inflation, which are popular topics for Republicans.
