According to Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to launch several new Macs over the next several months.
Gurman said in his newsletter that Apple is still working on the first Apple Mac Pro, with the company ramping up testing of the device internally. The M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme are said to be twice or four times as powerful as the M2 Max. According to Gurman, the Mac Pro will come with options for 24 and 48 core, 76 and 152 core, as well as up to 512 gigabyte of memory.
According to Gurman, there is a Mac Pro configuration that is undergoing active testing at Apple, and it has a number of features. It is said that the machine is running an operating system.
The new MacBook Pro models will be available in M2 Pro and M2 Max configurations. The M2 Max will come with up to 64 gigabytes of memory, and will have up to eight performance and four efficiency cores. The M2 Max is expected to be available in both sizes.
The next-gen Mac mini will have the same M2 chip as the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro. Apple has tested an M2 Pro chip inside the new Mac mini, with increased core counts, but Gurman did not say if the company is going with that model.
Gurman said that he expects the next-gen MacBook Pro and Mac mini models to launch in the coming months.
