The Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, also known as the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route, is one of the most well-known hiking trails in the world. One of the less crowded extensions is the Camino Portuguese coastal route, which begins in Porto and ends in Spanish Galicia. The Convent of Santa Clara and the Basilica of Santa Luzia are both located in Vila do Conde.
