Main cover to DC Power: A Celebration #1 by artist Jahnoy Lindsay.

DC and Marvel have released anthology stories in the last few years that celebrate queer and marginalized heroes. Kevin Conroy wrote a story for this year's DC Pride about the importance of DC's output. The publisher is going to make another anthology for Black History month.

The DC Power anthology will feature stories starring the publisher's various high-profile Black superheroes. Nubia, Batman, John Stewart and Jo Mullein are just a few of the names dropped in the solicitation for Power. Some teams weren't given, but the creative lineup will include Chuck Brown and others.

The publisher's Black heroes will be coming out next year. The Milestone 30th Anniversary Special will be released in February and will focus on heroes from that particular imprint. Though that special and Power will have some of the same creative forces, such as Brown and Williams, it's probably a safe bet that they won't make an appearance in Power. DC has had a strange relationship with some of its characters in the past. It is possible that there will be some exceptions made for the Batman Beyond andStaticStatic special.
