LSU's 'best players played their best' in upset of Ole Miss

LSU roared back from a two-touchdown deficit to beat Ole Miss 45-20 on Saturday.

The record for touchdown rushing by a quarterback with nine was set by Daniels. Daniels has accounted for at least one touchdown in each of the last two games. He had three in the win at Florida.

As the game ended, LSU fans ran onto the field to celebrate their victory. LSU is in the running to win the SEC West if it can beat Alabama on Saturday.

LSU became the first team since 2005 to defeat an AP Top 10 team by 25 or more points after trailing at halftime.

Kelly said that the men wanted the opportunity. They wanted to play in this stadium and see it as a privilege. They played well in the last three quarters.

LSU was outgained 200 to 80 in the first quarter and fell behind 17-3 on Jonathan Cruz's field goal to start the second quarter, but they came back to win the game.

The Mississippi offense scored over 400 total yards for the game.

Daniels ran for 121 and passed for 258. His touchdown passes went for 34 and 1 yards to Jaray and Mason, respectively. He ran for three long touchdown runs in the fourth quarter.

Josh Williams ran for the final touchdown of the game.

The LSU team did well in the second half. Harold Perkins Jr.'s unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after a third-down stop at the Rebels' 15-yard line early in the fourth quarter couldn't change the outcome of the game. Ole Miss had to punt after being down 11 points.

The collapse was summed up by Kiffin. They were pushed around. I had some injuries up there during the game. We didn't do a good job on the defensive side.

Daniels drove the ball 75 yards for a touchdown.

LSU's defense stopped Ole Miss on third-and-5 from the LSU 13 at the start of the second quarter, preventing the Rebels from scoring a touchdown.

The two touchdown scores by the tigers tied it. Daniels capped the next possession by keeping the ball on a read-option run from the 3 and throwing a 34 yard touchdown to Jenkins.

Cruz's field goal gave Mississippi a lead they wouldn't give up.

The Ole Miss quarterback was battered in the second half. The quarterback finished with 284 yards. In the third quarter, he threw a pass that was picked off by Joe Foucha in the end zone.

After a disappointing loss to Tennessee at home, Kelly has the tigers playing their best football. After trailing by 13 or more in conference play, LSU came back to win for the third time this year.
