NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is keeping an eye on how teams handle their rosters during the regular season because of the attention being paid to Victor Wembanyama.

During a recent meeting with employees of the Phoenix Suns, Silver said the league has put teams on notice that they could be tanking.

Analysts and fans assumed that non-contending teams would go all-in on a race to the bottom after Wembanyama's performance against Henderson.

The game was expected to become a factor after Wembanyama dropped 37 points on 7-of-11 three-point shooting.

According to one general manager, the 18-year-old French superstar is a 7'4" player who blocks shots, and will be the most hype player since King James XIV.

Silver tried to downplay the idea that teams might try to lose games in order to improve their odds of winning the lottery.

He said that many of the NBA teams are excited about the possibility of getting him through the lottery.

The NBA's entire business model would be disrupted by a possible relegation system that's used in soccer according to Silver.

Even if the Suns took two teams from the G League, they wouldn't be able to compete in the NBA.

Tanking is a concept that has been used in the NBA. There are examples of it happening almost every year, but this could be a special one because of how impressive Wembanyama is.

Silver and other league officials will be watching how often teams rest their best players.
