Michallik full of praise for Potter and Ten Hag after late draw (1:51)

The tactical changes made by Graham Potter and Eric ten Hag were praised by the man. There is a time and a place for it.

The top two teams in the league played out a tie at the home of the Blues. Jorginho converted a penalty to put the hosts in front, only for Casemiro to score an own goal and end Kepa Arrizabalaga's clean sheet streak.

It's the same for the two clubs in the table, with the Blues in fourth and United in fifth.

Rapid reaction

1. Casemiro snatches point for United in dramatic finish at Chelsea

Casemiro scored his first goal for Manchester United with a dramatic headed four minutes into the final minute of the game against the Blues.

Jorginho's 87th-minute penalty had looked to have given them a victory that their performance barely deserved. Casemiro, a £70 million summer signing from Real Madrid, salvaged a point for United by beating McTominay to a cross and heading the ball past Kepa, who had pushed it onto the post.

The goal was given despite Kepa trying to keep the ball out of the net.

Jorginho looked to have sent United to a fourth league defeat of the season when he sent goalkeeper David De Gea the wrong way from the spot, but they were able to hold on for a point. The official had no choice but to award a penalty after McTominay wrestled Broja to the ground.

The match report said that Man United was defeated by a score of 1-2.

It was a bad day for United, who lost Raphael Varane in the second half. The Portuguese star was dropped by the manager for refusing to go on as a substitute in the 2-0 win against Spurs.

Casemiro got a deserved point with his late goal.

2. Ten Hag has toughened up Man United

Football teams are a reflection of their manager's personality and, despite only being in charge of Manchester United, Ten Hag's abrasiveness is already rubbing off on his players.

Since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement, United have been a soft touch on the pitch with opponents often winning the physical battle. The players added to the squad by Ten Hag have given United the physical edge they have lacked for a long time. Casemiro, Antony and Lisandro all went too far in their challenges against their opponent.

Antony was booked for a foul on Jorginho in the first half and was involved in a fight with Mason Mount. Casemiro demonstrated his experience with a series of tactical fouls.

United have lacked steel for a long time, but Ten Hag has put it back into the team.

3. Chelsea midfield lacking legs and flair

The news that N'Golo Kante will be out of action for four months was a huge blow to the Blues because of their lack of depth in the middle of the park.

The centre of the pitch was hard to make an impact in against United. Graham Potter had to change his formation in the first half in order to give his team more time to recover from the red tide.

The six-week World Cup shut down will help the club as it will reduce the amount of time they will be short in the middle of the park, but it won't solve their problems.

Kante is in his 30's, Jorginho is in his 30's, and Kovacic is in his 28's. The workload all three have had during their careers is the reason for the lack of energy in the middle of the park. After an impressive spell on loan at Crystal Palace last season, Conor Gallagher was brought back to the club, but he isn't the answer to the club's problems in the middle of the park.
