The New York attorney was arrested using facial recognition technology.

According to court documents, John O' Kelly is charged with two felonies and four misdemeanors for his involvement in the insurrection.

O' Kelly tried to disarm police officers who were guarding the Capitol by grabbing an officer's baton and attempting to wrestle it from his hands, according to prosecutors. According to the government, O' Kelly pushed a metal bike rack into several officers.

The arrest of O' Kelly was reported by NBC News. The Lawyers' Committee for 9/11 Inquiry believes that pre-planted explosives were to blame for the fall of the Twin Towers.

O' Kelly filed a lawsuit on behalf of the group against the Justice Department in order to present the organization's conspiracy theory to a grand jury. The decision to dismiss the lawsuit was upheld five months later.

O' Kelly no longer works for the group according to a representative.

According to court documents, prosecutors were able to identify the attorney thanks to a tip. O'Kelly's identity was confirmed by federal investigators after they used open source photo ID software to identify him in photos from the riot.

According to NBC, online sleuths were able to identify O'Kelly as "MidWhiteCrisis" because he was included on the FBI's Capitol Violence page.
