When contacted by Skift, Vacasa confirmed the layoffs tip.

Most of the layoffs are among its corporate teams, and less so among property level workers.

Finance, human resources, legal, marketing, central operations, product, engineering and sales departments are impacted teams.

The company told Skift Friday that it had decided to reduce its workforce. About three percent of our total workforce is affected by this. We don't take these decisions lightly, but we constantly assess our business and strive to be more efficient.

The possibility of breaking even for the year is one of Greyber's priorities. Vacasa set its guidance for a range of negative $7 million in adjusted earnings to break even.

If cost-cutting doesn't greatly affect growth, it will help profitability.

Vacasa said Friday that laid off employees would receive benefits through the end of the year.

Vacasa fired 25 salespersons in July as part of a sales department reorganization. The competitors made their own cuts.

Vacasa, which went public late in 2021 and has seen its stock price plummet as a result, has been growing over the years through acquisitions and organically.

Vacasa went on a sales team hiring binge last year, recruiting around 200 sales staffers, and at the beginning of 2020 had a self-styled.

Inflation and macroeconomic uncertainties played a role in Vacasa firing the 25 salespersons in July. A source says that the company told many remaining salespeople that they would be the next ones to go.

It is not clear how deep the sales staff cuts ended up being.

Vacasa is in the process of making budget cuts as well.
