Walmart Still Doesn't Accept Apple Pay in U.S. Despite Many Customer Requests

Walmart faces many requests to accept Apple Pay on a daily basis, but it doesn't accept the tap-to-pay service at its 4,700 stores across the US

Walmart Pay is available through the Walmart app on the phone. Walmart Pay allows customers to pay for their purchases with a payment card stored in the app instead of using Near Field Communication technology like Apple Pay.

Walmart does not accept Near Field Communication and instead has implemented convenient solutions, such as Walmart Pay, that give customers easy, touchless payments on any phone, according to a Walmart spokesman. Scan & Go is an innovative technology that allows Sam's Club and Walmart+ members to skip the checkout altogether.

It's clear that Walmart is ignoring one of its customers' most frequent requests, even though there are some benefits for Walmart in pushing its own mobile payments service, such as getting more customers to download the Walmart app, being able to track a customer's purchase history, and avoiding Apple

It was eight years ago that Apple Pay was launched. Walmart, The Home Depot, and Kroger are some of the major retailers that do not accept Apple Pay. Walmart started accepting Apple Pay in Canada in the late 20th century.
