The Philadelphia 76ers lost to the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, and there may be a reason for that.

According to Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Doc Rivers told reporters Friday that he dealt with plantar fasciitis leading up to training camp, which affected his normal training and conditioning program.

Before the season started, he had a problem with his foot and had to take his conditioning program off. He is back on that. He is playing with the correct intentions. He just didn't play well. It is going to happen. We need to win those games.

The 76ers lost to the Bucks 90-88 on Thursday. He had 15 points, 12rpg, three assists and one block in 36 minutes. He shot 6-of-21 from the floor and 1- of 3 from deep.

It's not surprising to hear that Embiid's summer training was affected by injury. The veteran big man had some issues with his conditioning after the preseason game.

"I'm okay," he said. I'm still trying to get back to normal. I haven't been able to do a lot of things on the basketball court this summer. I have five days to be ready.

In May, he had a procedure on his left index finger, as well as surgery on his thumb and foot.

It's worth pointing out that in Philadelphia's season-opening loss to the Boston Celtics, Embiid finished with 26 points, 15 rebound, five assists and one block in 37 minutes. He shot 9-of-18 from the floor and 1- of 6 from deep.

As the season goes on, he will return to his previous form. He averaged 30.6 points, 11.7 rebound, 4.2 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.5 blocks in a season in which he was selected to the All-Star team and finished second in the voting for the Most Valuable Player award.

The San Antonio Spurs will be the opponent for the 76ers on Saturday.
