Jack Daniel's in travel retail is getting a new dawn thanks to the American Single Malt.

Jack Daniel's will launch an American single malt at key international airports in June of 2020. The new line of alcohol will cost US$100 per bottle.

The whiskey is said to be the first of its kind and is owned by a brand.

The Oloroso Sherry Casks were created at the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee.

Stephane Morizet said that the category-disruptive launch of Jack Daniel's American Single Malt signals a new dawn for Jack Daniel's in the world of spirits innovation.

Consumers are trading up and looking to expand their whiskey journey while travelling, so we are launching a new ultra-premium expression of our whiskey. Jack Daniel's American Single Malt delivers a richer sip experience for more elevated moments.

The single malt is ground and distilled at the distillery. The whiskey is mellowed through charcoal and then matured in American white oak barrels for at least four years. It is finished in Spanish Oloroso sherry for another two years before being bottled.

The smell is of soft oak, fruit and cocoa. There are notes of chocolate covered nuts and berries with a subtle sherry finish.
