Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins has been out for a long time.
According to sources, Dobbins will be out of action for four to six weeks after having surgery on his left knee. The running back didn't practice all week after he didn't play in the second half of the game.
The Ravens will rely on Kenyan Drake, who became the first Baltimore running back to rush for 100 yards this season, and a growing backfield for the next month. Justice Hill, who leads the Ravens running backs with 6.6 yards per carry, is back for the game after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury. After practicing for two weeks, the physically unable to perform list could be removed by the time the season ends.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said that Drake was effective once he got started. He has a lot of speed and power.
This is bad news for Dobbins, who was out all of last season with a knee injury. He said he tore several muscles.
He didn't look like he was at full strength after missing the first two games. He carried the ball 35 times in four games.
It was hard for Dobbins to not play in the fourth quarter of the game. After hurting his knee at the Giants, he sat out the rest of the game.
Harbaugh said that J.K's knee tightened up. In the second half, he didn't feel like he had that burst of energy. I believe he landed on it.
A second-round draft pick in 2020, Dobbins was immediately an impact player, leading all running backs in rushing average and setting a Ravens rookies record with nine touchdown runs.
The Baltimore running backs are 25th in the league in rushing yards.
