Former President Trump said he would find it very disloyal if former Vice President Mike Pence or other members of his former Cabinet were to run for president.
"Many of them have said they wouldn't run if I ran, so we'll see if that turns out to be true," Trump said during a brief phone interview with Fox News Radio host Brian Kilmeade. It would be disloyal if they did, but that's okay.
Trump boasted that the polls have him leading by 40, 50 points and said he would decide on whether to run for president in the not-too- distant future.
The former president has entertained the idea of returning to the White House but has not made a decision.
Most polls show Trump as the clear favorite to win the Republican nomination if he were to run, but several other high-profile Republicans like Pence, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former U.N. AmbassadorNikki Haley are also considering a bid for the White House
During a speech at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. earlier this week, Vice President Mike Pence took several jabs at Trump, warning conservatives against straying too far from their principles.
Trump criticized his former vice president for not agreeing with his plan to stop the certification of President Biden's electoral college victory.
A former assistant to Trump told the House panel that Tru mp called Pence a "wimp" during a call before the riot.
