Kenny Pickett cleared concussion protocol and is in line to start Sunday against the Miami Dolphins according to the team.
In the third quarter of the Pittsburgh's 20-18 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they had a player suffer a concussion. If Pickett clears the concussion protocol, he will start against the Dolphins, according to the coach.
"If someone is in the protocol and they have complete clearance in terms of full participation, you allow them to participate," he said. You limit their participation when it is limited. It provides more opportunities for others when it's limited.
He has been given clearance from a participation standpoint.
The rookies took all of his usual first-team reps on Wednesday and Thursday.
He led a touchdown drive on the first series of the game, and made his first start against the Bucs. In Pickett's place,Mitch Trubisky, who started the first four games of the season, completed 9 of 12 attempts for 142 yards and a touchdown.
Cornerback Levi Wallace and tight end Pat Freiermuth are expected to play on Sunday after being cleared from concussion protocol.
