The Texas Rangers have a new manager after three years of retirement.

According to the Rangers, they have agreed to a three-year deal with the manager.

As we went through the interview process, Bruce was very excited about returning to the bench. Rangers general manager Chris Young said that it became clear that he was the perfect person to lead the club.

The Rangers were expected to do well in the upcoming season. The front office spent more than half a billion dollars to sign three free agents.

The Rangers struggled to a 68-94 record and things didn't work out as expected. Chris Woodward was fired as manager after a poor start.

Woodward had been the interim manager for the remainder of the season.

25 years as a manager is a long time for a man. He was the manager of the San Diego Padres at the time.

He played nine seasons in the big leagues before becoming a coach. He spent time with the Astros, Mets, and Padres.

In 1996 the Padres won the National League West. The team went on to win the NL Manager of the year award.

In the 1998 World Series, San Diego made the playoffs for the third time.

The San Francisco Giants had a new manager after the 2006 season. He missed the playoffs in both of his seasons in the Bay Area.

The Giants had one of the best five-season runs in franchise history. They won three World Series titles in four years. They had seven winning seasons in eight years.

In February of this year, he said he would retire after the season. During the World Baseball Classic qualification games in Germany, he managed France.

He is seventh in MLB history in games managed and 12th in wins.

The Longhorns haven't finished with a winning record since they went 95-67 in the 2016 season.
