For the first time in its history, Popeye's is delivering Cajun fried turkeys

Do you not want to cook your own Thanksgiving turkey or look for something different this year? An alternative is offered by Popeyes.

The Cajun-fried turkey will be delivered nationwide for the first time, but not in Hawaii or Alaska. In-store pickup was the only way to get the birds.

Where applicable, the turkeys will cost you $94.99. The price includes shipping. 12 people will be fed. Pre-orders can be found on the website.

They won't be ready for the table right away. Pre-cooked birds need to be reheated. If you want mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing and such, you need to make them yourself.

Fried turkey is a favorite on Thanksgiving, but flash frying a bird of that size yourself can be dangerous. Fire departments respond to more than 1,000 deep fryer fires each year, which can cause burns and damage to property.

The blend of spices from Popeye's won't be reproduced by Frying it yourself.

I'm not ready to pay $100 for a turkey, but still want to know what's going on? It's possible to pick one up in person and save money. Last year some stores were selling in-person prices for around 40 dollars.

This year is likely to be a bigger one. According to the American Farm Bureau Federation, families can expect to pay record high prices for turkey due to bird flu and inflation.

The retail price for fresh, skinless turkey breast reached a record high of $6.70 per pound in September, 112% higher than the same time in 2021.
