One of the best travel cards on the market is the Chase sapphire reserve. Chase Ultimate rewards points can be earned at 2 cents per point. Many of us open travel cards in the first place because it gives us best-in-class travel protections.

You can get 80,000 bonus points if you spend $4,000 in the first three months of your account opening. It is a great time to apply for that bonus because it is the highest in over five years.

There is a laundry list of benefits that are ready to be used. You have to enroll in at least one way before they work for you.

You should register for the Chase rewards.

You can register for priority pass by visiting the Ultimate rewards travel portal. Under your card benefits page is a button that says "Activate now" For step-by-step instructions, you can read our post.

Global Entry/TSA PreCheck reimbursement

The Chase Sapphire Reserve gives away free memberships. These programs speed up your airport experience.

You can sign up for our newsletter.

  • TSA PreCheck membership costs $85 for five years and means you won’t have to take your shoes and belt off at TSA security checkpoints where there is a PreCheck line. You can also keep your laptop and small toiletries in your carry-on.
  • Global Entry costs $100 for five years and allows you to skip the immigration line when returning to the U.S. It also comes with TSA PreCheck, so it’s the better option if you can get it.

The benefit lasts for four years. Credit can be used to cover the application fee for a friend.

RJ SANGOSTI/DENVER POST

It doesn't mean you're a member of these programs immediately. The application fee will be reimbursed when you pay for it with your reserve.

It is not a benefit that you have to register for with the card, but you must enroll in one of the programs to use it.

Your DashPass membership will be activated when you add your Sapphire Reserve as a payment method. It comes with free delivery and reduced service fees if you order over $12.

Lyft benefits

You don't have to register for this benefit, but it's worth mentioning that the best rate on any Chase card on the market is the 10 points per dollar earned on rides on the ride sharing service.

If you use the Sapphire Reserve, you'll get 20% back on every purchase, which is a potentially lucrative return for frequent ride share users.
