According to a report, Jerry Jones told the owner of the New England Pats "don't f--k with me" during a heated exchange at the league's meetings.

Jones said that he did express himself in a way that was not in good taste.

Jones was one of the owners who voted against allowing the compensation committee to open negotiations for a new contract for the commissioner.

The 31 owners who voted in favor of such a measure were led by the man who replied "excuse me?"

Jones said to not mess with him.

Jones' issue with the new contract is that it doesn't have a strict set of financial goals and metrics.

He spearheaded an effort to change the commissioner's contract from a salary based one to a bonus based one.

A league source said that Roger wants accountability on the financial goals tied to his bonus. Roger is going to get a big bonus before he earns it.

Jones said those things during Friday's interview.

He said that he was a supporter of the commissioner. I think he has done a great job. My support for Roger wasn't the reason for it.
